  •  Some vehicles have metallic windscreens that prevent the tag from working, the black mottled or shaded area behind the rear view mirror is always non-metallic.
  • The white side of the tag that is barcoded should face out to the toll plaza.

More information on where you should position your tag can be found on our website here.

4. Can I use my Emovis Tag in car parks?

Yes! Emovis Tags work in many car parks across France, Spain, and Portugal, but the process varies slightly by country:

France (Liber-t Tag – Orange ‘T’ Symbol):

  • Take a ticket at the entrance; this records your arrival time.
  • When leaving, go straight to your vehicle without paying at the machine.
  • Exit via the orange ‘T’ lane, insert your ticket, and your tag will be detected, opening the barrier.
  • The parking cost is automatically added to your monthly invoice.

Spain (VIA-t Tag – Blue VIA-T Symbol):

  • Option 1: Take a ticket at the entrance and have your tag detected at the exit, similar to France.
  • Option 2: Use a lane marked with the blue VIA-T symbol; your tag is detected on entry and exit without a ticket.

Portugal (VIA-t Tag – Green Via Verde Symbol):

  • Approach the green Via Verde lane at the entrance, press the green button, and your tag will beep to open the barrier.
  • No ticket is issued. Your tag will be detected at the exit barrier, which opens automatically, and the cost is added to your account.

Optional: If you don’t want to use your tag for payment, such as with a pre-booked hotel parking, place it in the foil bag provided to prevent detection.
